Nostalgic Foodie

Can't believe it has been almost a year since Adam's graduation. It was so much fun having everyone in Cleveland to celebrate. We had a spectacular assortment of culinary delights---two types of cake (one cassada, one not) from Corbo's in Little Italy...croissants, pastries, salad and sandwich fixings from the Stone Oven* AND a very satisfying celebratory dinner at The Pub in Rocky River (I highly recommend the Goat Cheese Dip). Now I've made myself hungry and am entirely powerless to help my cravings. Unless, of course, I hop a plane to Cleveland.
*I have yet to find any bakery/cafe in Phoenix that lives up to the excellent ingredients and consistent quality of the Stone Oven. (Paradise Bakery and Wildflour are disappointing and way overpriced)

Happy Mother's Day from a bunch of creepy looking cats.

Quick Vote

CNN Quick Votes can be a bit ridiculous. For this one I think they needed to add a third choice..."What?" Let's see the results...
Well that's a YES...and yes I voted.

This Shouldn't Concern ME

Just when I thought about being more than a half-hearted twitterer...but at least the cartoon was cute.

Tacky Tuesday

The best part of this dishtowel might be the tagline at the bottom, "All Meals Served Family Style." I'm easily amused. Snag it for your place here...and then browse http://www.modcloth.com/ for other fun tackiness. Like the Early Bird Alarm Clock that chirps at you when it is time to wake up. You know...so you can get that worm.

Fashion's Muse

Several weeks ago I had the opportunity to view this exhibit. I enjoyed touring the influence of earlier periods on "modern" design. The picture of the gown above doesn't give a true impression of its beauty. It was stunning. There were many gorgeous designs and luscious fabrics. Some of the outfits certainly looked like they could have been taken from David Bowie's private collection...
This is Bowie back to Bowie...can you hear me out there man? Fashion. Turn to the left. Maybe that's too many song references in a row.
