Inside Looking Out

Ahhhhh... 79 degrees. Let's just hope the scorpions don't find their way in....

Happy Birthday

How old will I be? 27? 26? We had to think a little too long about this. 27? NO...really? That would mean that I was 26? I thought I was 25. A few more advanced calculations----age when married - graduation + DOB = ?!? What a relief...not as old as we thought.

Pay Attention

In desperate need of some socks and a pullover, I made a visit to our walk-in closet. Just as I was exiting something caught my eye. A pattern embroidered on the hood of a sweatshirt I have owned for several years and never noticed. It says, "Vertigo"----the brand. A small and pleasant discovery...kind of like when you reach in a pocket of a pair of pants or purse you haven't worn in awhile and find money (even a dollar is absolutely thrilling!).

Stuck in the Past

It's getting close to midnight here and I'm finally feeling like I might be able to sleep. MIDNIGHT...which reminds me of New Year's Eve this year (last year...technically this year and last year...well you know what I mean). I was in Ohio with the fam and Adam was home all by himself in Arizona (make a sad face). We were talking to each other on the phone when the clock struck twelve AND since twelve in Ohio was still only TEN in Arizona, Adam promptly said, "Help, I'm stuck in the past." Then, of course, we were all very amused.

Not To Brag

Current Temperature: 72 degrees
Skies: Clear Blue
Sun: Shining
Month: January (WHAT?!?)

Bloodthirsty Yipping

So, if it wasn't for the fact that hyenas aren't native to this continent...I would be pretty convinced that a gaggle of them were just outside my window early this morning. Again, around 2:30AM (seems to be a common point of wakefulness over the past several days) I was awakened, this time not by a knock but by police sirens and a series of ugly, bloodthirsty yips. Adam heard them too. (whew...not entirely crazy) Anyway...it is far more likely the disturbing yelps were the cries from a pack of this guy:

Probably not as a cartoon...but I have no visual proof of this assertion.

Winter Wedding

Adorned with snowflakes and sparkly cake glitter, Laura and Bill's cake was the perfect accessory to a winter wedding. I was thrilled to snap this shot while the spotlight shaded blue. The wedding was a great success---not that I was expecting anything less. Like Katie said, "The Dunns really know how to throw a party." True, very true.
